Maysia Allen

Maysia has over 8 years of field case management experience throughout the Northeast Florida Counties. She has extensive experience in long term case management within managed care, home health, assisted living, and behavioral settings, completing assessments, preparing treatment plans, and coordinating discharge plans for large caseloads. Her most recent role was managing the operations and safety of a level 2 residential program.

Jennifer Stephenson

Dr. Steven VanGelder

AD, LMHC, CAP 

Dr. Steven VanGelder has served in the behavioral health profession for the past 40 years. As a licensed counseling therapist, Dr. VanGelder has worked in many areas of therapy, including addictions, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, couples work and grief and loss. His contributions in the field of counseling include supervision of many aspiring counselors and as an adjunct professor in counseling for ten years. Dr. Van Gelder earned a Doctorate of Addictive Disorders from the Breining Institute, and Master of Public Administration from Old Dominion University, a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Bonaventure University.

Sonatra Henry

Sonatra is a dedicated Mental Health Counselor with a passion for supporting individuals on their journey to emotional well-being. She specializes in anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma. Through compassionate guidance and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Sonatra empowers clients to navigate challenges, cultivate resilience, and achieve personal growth. She holds a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and continues to expand their expertise through ongoing professional development. Committed to fostering a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment, Sonatra is dedicated to helping individuals achieve mental wellness and lead fulfilling lives.

Chhaya brings over 20 years of experience to FCN. She has done Assessment and Intervention, worked as an outpatient therapist, program director at a methadone clinic, co-owner of a mental health center, Hospice Counselor and a hospital Behavioral Health Specialist. She has counseling experience in the areas of behavioral health, substance abuse, domestic violence, anger management and end of life care. In addition to her many years of experience, Chhaya has two

master’s degrees – a master’s in arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University and a

Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Broda. Chhaya’s calm demeanor and sincere attitude are a plus when working with client issues.

Jeanette has over 15 years’ experience working with adults and children. She began her career as a Substance Abuse Counselor, working with dual-diagnosed adults on an outpatient basis. She provided services including intake and assessment, individual and group counseling, drug screening and Case Management. Her clients included those referred by the Department of Corrections and Federal Prison upon their release.

 

Jeanette has also worked as a Behavioral Health Case Manager for children and adults with mental health or substance abuse issues in Volusia and adjacent counties.  Currently, Jeanette is a graduate student working on her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health. She speaks fluent Spanish.

Scott Shearon

Scott is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has been working in a variety of settings, with all ages, over the last 30 years. Scott specializes in play therapy with children, specializes with setting job/career goals with adolescents, and provides coping skills for mood and anxiety for adults, while being a good listener to all

Jennifer holds a masters degree in social work rom Florida State University and is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern working toward her LCSW. Jennifer employs evidence-based therapeutic approaches to tackle a range of challenges. In her therapeutic practice, she adopts a client-centered methodology, placing significant emphasis on fostering unconditional positive regard for her clients. 

 

Jennifer is dedicated to building a trusting, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship as she believes it is a cornerstone of effective therapy.

 

Jennifer is committed to supporting you with empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to help you navigate the challenges you may be facing.

Worked as therapist for 14 years. Specialize in substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma and family therapy. Hold 2 Master degrees. Working towards license as marriage and family therapist. Work with victims of trafficking and Federal probationers.
